Birmingham

Here are some of photos that I took in Birmingham in November, they are similar to the photos I have used for my assignment on 'persective'.

Frog Spawn

I have frog spawn! I first noticed frog spawn in my pond on Tuesday and I have recorded it on the BBC Springwatch site. I am sure this is at least two weeks later than last year. From looking at the map on the BBC Springwatch site there have been many sightings already throughout the UK although not so many as this time last year.

Cold & Rain

As it has been so cold and rainy today I thought I would post a flower to remember the summer.

Tiredness

What a week! I think I must have been fighting some bug, there are so many going around the office right now. I have been feeling extremely tired with aches and pains all over, every evening I came home from work and just sat on the sofa and could not summon up any energy to do anything, not even switch the computer on! The good news is I have just about recovered from my fall although my foot is still sore when I walk a lot, the pain in my knee has eased at last. I was quite anxious the first time I ventured out again - so silly but the fall did shake me up a great deal.

Assignment 2

I managed to print lots of photos at college so now have all I need for Assignment 2, I decided to do 'Perspective' in the end, I had planned to do 'Into the Light' and took quite a few photos but they didn't really work. I had taken quite a few photos of the canal when visiting Birmingham in November and the photos turned out well so I have decided to use those. Will scan and post some photos soon.

Too cold

I have been off work for the past few days, I fell over and sprained my ankle, what a stupid thing to do! I have not been able to enjoy being home as it has been so cold, I live in a Victorian house which most of the time I love as there is a lot of room but in the winter I really suffer with the cold. I have central heating but when it is really cold it is not very effective. My gas fire in the living room was condemned earlier in the year so I decided it would be nice to have an open fire but I ran out of wood earlier in the week so have not been able to light the fire. I hope I can drive again soon so that I can go and get some wood and coal.

I spent this morning taking photos for the theme ‘Past its best’. I had saved some roses which I had several weeks ago and took photos of them, setting them up in front of a window for as much natural light as I could get. I also took some with a lamp shining onto them. It’s the first time I have set up a still life so I hope it will be successful. I will have to wait to see the results as I will not be able to develop the film for a couple of weeks due to having to finish printing for assignment 2.
