Clock change

It will take me a few days to get used the fact that the clocks have gone forward an hour, hence I am sat at my computer when I should be getting ready for bed.

There are some lovely photos of tree trunks over at Leaves of Grass, some impressive textures. Trees are one of my favourite subjects for photographs as you will see from previous pictures on this blog.

Catching up

I have been busy all day getting my sketchbook up to date for the photography course. I handed in the mounted photographs two weeks ago and tomorrow I have to hand in the supporting work in my sketchbook. I have had it all organised and ready to do but just kept putting it off. Why do I leave it to the last minute?

Mothering Sunday today. I had a quick phonecall from France where my daughter is working (she was in a phonebox) and an email greeting from my son. Oh well, the days of breakfast in bed are long gone - did I ever get breakfast in bed? Maybe once or twice.

At last the weather is a little warmer, but lots of rain, the gardens etc. do need the rain so I shouldn't complain. I have been getting very fed up with the cold.

What a difference a week makes! These photos were taken a week ago. Now it is mild and rainy.

05 March 2006

This past week at work has been a very stressful one, not because of the amount of work I have (which is ongoing and never ending) but because of the way a colleague has been treated. This had repercussions on all of us (the team of secretaries) and caused a great amount of sadness and anxiety. We have been upset and concerned about our colleague and ended the week all feeling discontented with our jobs.

Work is very much a part of one’s life and the majority of one’s day is spent at work so that when episodes like this happen it affects the rest of your day to day life. I ended the week feeling numb and of course a major headache to accompany my feelings.

I am not looking forward to work tomorrow but morning will come and I will go through the routine of getting up, breakfast, getting ready to leave, driving to work and I will arrive to face another day.
