I found 4 Geocaches this month all on the same weekend.  One DNF (did not find). I was hoping to introduce my sister to geocaching but we couldn't find the one closest to her house.  I looked on the geocaching website and other people have not been able to find either it so it seems it has disappeared.

This month I reached a milestone of 100 caches found.

3 books read -

• Dreamer - Peter James 
• Revival - Stephen King. 

Many seeds planted, some have come up well, some came up and were eaten by slugs and some have not appeared at all!

5 trips to the vet, 2 for annual injections and 3 the latter part of last week when Tara had problems with her teeth and gums; one trip was an emergency at 11.00 pm, the next day for blood tests and Friday for dental work.  In total 14 teeth were removed. (Greyhounds are notorious for their bad teeth).  Dogs have 42 teeth so it is not as bad as it sounds.

Me on Monday

Me on Monday a day late! Waving to Sian and my blog readers.

Monday found me driving to Bristol in heavy rain to meet my friend for coffee, we have been friends since our school days.

The weekend was a restful Saturday and a busy Sunday.  Saturday my son was here as he stayed the night as he was playing in a concert in Dorset and my house is half way!  He was very kind and cleaned my living room carpet, he had borrowed my carpet cleaner to clean the carpets in his flat, he brought it back and as there was some liquid cleaner left he decided to use it up.  It was done while I was out walking Tara so a lovely surprised when we got back.

We had some sunshine on Sunday so Tara was able to go outside, she loves to sleep in the sun.

Sunday afternoon was spent helping a friend pack as she is moving house next week.  I quite like packing so it was an enjoyable afternoon.

When I got home I took Tara to the fields for a walk,  it's a beautiful area which unfortunately is under threat from developers wanting to build houses.

It was a Geocaching kind of weekend as it was the 15 year birthday of geocaching.

This weekend 15 years ago the US government made 24 satellites available around the world available to all thus improving the accuracy of every GPS.  Before this time only the military had access to these satellites.  A few days later Dave Ulmer, a computer consultant had the idea to hide a container in the woods and post the co-ordinates on the internet, three days later two people read about it and used their own GPS receivers to find the container and over the next few months Geocaching was born.

Saturday morning my son and I found our first cache of the weekend in a store car park, we then went to the local garden centre for tea/coffee as he was leaving shortly after to play at a wedding reception.

Sunday we went to a geocache meet at Sand Point on the Somerset coast, I had not visited this area before despite living in the town close by many years ago.

It is a beautiful area, I was a little anxious when I got there due to my recent back problems as there was a hill to climb  and a walk along the top but I managed it.  We met the others and enjoyed our hilltop birthday party, Tara particularly enjoyed all the food on the ground at her level but she did not put me to shame and it was someone else's dog who leaped onto the picnic blanket and stole the sausage rolls!  (Not the one in the photo either)

After the get together my son and I went for a short walk to find a couple of geocaches then back to the car for a picnic lunch.

Tara decided she had looked at the rocks long enough and started to make her way back to the top after we had gone to the bottom of the side of the hill.

It was good to get out for a walk after being home for several weeks and only going for short walks.
