My daughter has been staying for the past three months as she has broken her collar bone, it is quite a serious break and is taking a long time to heal. She has been in a trememdous amount of pain. We went to the hospital yesterday to see a consultant, he says it is starting to mend - at last! - although it could still take several months to completely heal.

The results from my photography course have arrived and I did very well getting an A*, I am really pleased all the hard work paid off. I want to continue with another course but due to moving house it will have to wait until next year.

Several people have viewed the house but no offers yet. I find it very instrusive having strangers looking around.

My son cleared out the shed today, it was full of things that just get put into sheds and forgotten about - a rusty BBQ, a dog guard for the car that I didn't need, old bottles (to be recycled) and all sorts of things just forgotten. All gone to the dump now. We have very good recycling facilities in this area so all is sorted and what can be recycled is recycled.

I have started sorting through the boxes in the attic room, reliving my past, not so emotional as before. Still lots to do.

House for sale!

Here I am at last. I have been spending ALL my time when not working, getting the house ready to sell, I am in the process of sifting though all my belongings and deciding what to keep and what I do not need anymore, it has been a very emotional time.

I have finally got the house ready for viewing, it has been a lot of effort as I am a very untidy person and also I hoard lots of thing just in case I need them. A good friend came yesterday and helping with all the finishing touches, moving plants etc to make the rooms look inviting.

I now have to wait and hope the house sells quickly.

Houses

I went to look at some houses today and found two that I really like. I have to sell my present house due to financial reasons. Its too big for me now anyway. Next year my son will probably be leaving so I won't need a four bedroom house. Both houses are modern, one built in the 1980's and the other approx. 2000, this house is Victorian so it will be quite different for me. The only drawback is the gardens are quite small, but houses with large gardens are beyond what I can afford. Both gardens are well established, well laid out and really pretty.

I now have the task of sorting through all my belongings and deciding what to keep. This will be quite a challenge for me and I have been quite a hoarder in the past. I have always enjoyed lots of crafts so have lots of knitting yarn, material, sewing bits and pieces. I also have many books to sort through and will have to part with some of them. I am in for a busy time.

Garden

The weather has been so lovely lately I have not spent much time using the computer so have neglected by blog. Here are some views of my garden taken two weeks ago. As I work full time I do not have a lot of time for gardening so it is a little 'wild', I actually like it like this, there is always shade on hot summer days. As you can see the apple tree grows at a strange angle!

Ebbor Gorge

My daughter was visiting for the weekend; we went to Ebbor Gorge in the Mendip Hills for a walk. It is now a nature reserve protected by English Nature, there are three trails through the woodland, one of them goes up through the limestone gorge, we didn’t take that route as our dog is not very good at rock climbing! Neolithic people occupied some of the caves in the area. It is a very peaceful place, when we came out of the woods we saw a deer standing in the pathway, unfortunately I had put my camera away. I used to take my dog there frequently when I was much younger, in those days there were not the steps and paths that are there now, I am not sure which I prefer. I will have to dig out some photos that I took back in the 70’s.

My Views - Going home

After seeing Sonia's landscapes on her blog 'Leaves of Grass' - views of her journey home and the beautiful views on Alice's blog, I decided not to rush home from work today and go via the country lanes and take some photographs. Driving down the lanes instead of the main road was a less stressful drive.
