I have not been able to do much blogging lately. I have a recurring shoulder problem; initially it was caused by using different workstations when I was a temp. I first wrote about it here.
The main problem was the length of the mouse lead but by the time I discovered what was causing the pain in my shoulder and arm it was too late. I suffered with adhesive capsulitis ‘frozen shoulder’ for almost a year, after lots of exercises and time away from a computer I did get the movement back. Unfortunately I have never really recovered and the pain can become severe at times. I am only able to write for short periods so I cannot minute meetings at work (sometimes that is a good thing!). I have been set up at work with a special keyboard with an integrated mouse. I would love to have one at home but it is expensive to buy at home I use a
A couple of weeks ago my trackball broke! I had to go back to using a mouse but could only use it for very short periods. I had to wait a few weeks before I was able to replace it as I needed to get to a large city to buy one. My new trackball is even better than the last one as it is optical; the previous one had problems with dust getting caught on the small wheels inside so as this one is optical that problem is gone. If anyone does have shoulder/arm/wrist problems I recommend getting this type of ‘mouse’ as it stays still on the desk so there is no movement in the shoulder.
So apologies if I have not visited you lately.
No problems. I have used a keyboard for more years than I can remember so I know the kind of problems that can occur. x
ReplyDeleteI have a Logitech trackball, but it's impossible to clean. It's out of date now. We find it very hard to buy things like that here, and these days buy on-line. Logitech shipping costs more than double the price of their trackballs, so maybe I can find a source for Kensington. I'm off to see if I can find a supplier!
