Spring is coming!

The weather has been fine this weekend, after rain every weekend for weeks. This afternoon I enjoyed an outing with my sister and aunt to a garden centre near Cheddar, its a beautiful setting just below the Mendip Hills.

Afterwards we visited Cheddar, famous for Cheddar cheese, the Gorge and caves, Cheddar's most distinguishing feature is the natural phenomenon of Britain's largest gorge, while The Cheddar Yeo in Gough's Cave is Britain's biggest underground river, and the Gorge Cliffs are Britain's highest inland limestone cliffs.

There is a wonderful shop in Cheddar called "The Gorge Bear Company" its full of bears of all shapes and sizes, there are so many to choose from. See their website if you love bears.

In between the rainshowers yesterday, I mananged to take some photos in the garden. The border on the right side is looking pretty. It is interesting to see what is coming up.

New town

I have finally moved to my new house, I am finding it hard to settle in a new town. Nothing is familiar, I can't just pop next door to my neighbours or along the road to see my friends. My best friend doesn't drive so I haven't seen her so much. As a visitor to the town I used to find people friendly but now I live here my immediate neighbours are not friendly, in fact they have already complained to the council about my son's trumpet playing, he is a professional player so needs to practice, he does not practice late at night or for long periods of time so we will have to find a solution. It has made me feel really sad that they could not come and knock on the door and speak to us instead.

On a positive note, I like the house, although it is much smaller than my old house, I am having difficulty finding homes for everything. It is certainly a lot warmer as I now have double glazing, and with the rooms being a lot smaller they heat up a lot quicker.

Here are a couple of photos of the garden, its not very big and the lawn needs a lot of attention, I can't wait until the weather is warmer so I can sit outside.

New Beginnings

I have not done much blogging about my house move, it has all been incredibly stressful, the waiting for all the legal things to happen seems to go on for ever, then suddenly I am told I will be moving in a week. It has taken every ounce of my energy to find removers, pack everything and all that has to be done, in between I had to find time to go to work as well. I am now exhausted mentally and physically.

The next time I write I will be living in a new (to me) house in a different town, so new beginnings. I will have a different journey to work which is slightly longer but still through beautiful countryside.

I am finding little time for blogging, I am still spending time sorting through the attic room, although with the little time that is left at the weekends when I have done all the housework etc it is taking longer than it should. I will post when I have spare time to sit at the computer.
