Sadly, one year ago on Tuesday the pier at Weston-super-Mare burnt down, this photograph was taken a week afterwards. The pier is now being re-built and will open in 2010 - you can read all about the progress here. The news article from the day can be read here.

ReplyDeleteIt is such a shame that is was destroyed like that. I am glad they are re building it, i know it won't be the same as the original but hopefully it will look lovely once it is done.

When we came home never heard anymore.
So glad they are re-building this one, such a shame we have lost so many over the years.
