Ba Ba black Sheep

I saw these lovely lambs on our walk yesterday, at first they all ran away when they saw the dog but this mum just wanted to show off her lambs and came back.

Here is Tara in her spotty coat, the photo was taken last weekend and yes it was still cold for her to be wearing her fleece.

Tea with Abi

Once again Tea with Abi has come around, I missed last month as I have had internet problems. Let’s meet at Costa and I will we will talk about what has been happening.

I would tell you all about my problems with the internet, ever since I changed to BT Infinity my internet connection has been very slow and kept dropping out, after 5 months BT have sent a new Hub and all is fine (so far). It has been so frustrating at times.

I would tell you about Tara and what a naughty dog she is when I go out. She jumps up at the kitchen counters and pulls everything off. I came home last week to find the toaster hanging from it’s cord, the knives on the floor (still in their wooden rack) and a large frying pan on the floor - which is quite heavy so I do not know how she did not hurt herself, so now I have a super tidy kitchen with very little on the counter tops. I have put a lot of the items into the utility room (which is very small), it is where I keep her food so I have a dog gate across the entrance - there is no door, it’s just a space.

I would tell you about the other greyhound owners I have talked to on our walks and they have the same problems - it’s seems it is something that some greyhounds do.

I would tell you all about the craft show I went to and all the goodies that were available and how I could have spent a fortune but didn’t.

We could talk about how nice it has been to have some warmer weather at last although it has still been quite cold in the mornings.

I would ask you how the revision is going, I am pleased you have a peaceful place to study. Chatting about blogging, I too have been reading Julie Kirk’s series on blogging and found it helpful. Thanks to you I have found Bloglovin and like it much better than Google Reader.

Time goes on and I now have to get back to hang out the washing and clear my kitchen counter tops before I go out.

Craft show

Friday I went to the Craft Show held at the Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallet with my sister and friend.  It was a tiring day walking around with so much to see.  I bought a few crafting goodies and a new sewing machine.

My old sewing machine that I have had for many years broke in the autumn and as I have already had it repaired once I think this time it is the end.  It is over 40 years old so has done very well.  It was well used as I made a lot of my children's clothes when they were young.  We spent many happy hours together!

 I am waiting for the new one to arrive any minute!

Spring

I am so pleased to see these at last, this winter has been a long cold one leaving us wondering if spring was ever going to get here.  It looks like spring is here.

Walk on Colliers Way

Looking for places to walk I found Colliers Way a recreational path of 23 miles which at present follows the old railway line from Frome to Dundas, there is a project to extend the route into Bath to link with the Bristol and Bath Railway Path. It is also part of the National Cycle Network.

Information from the Colliers Way website:
The Radstock to Frome railway line first opened in 1854 to coal traffic, and to passengers a year later. It closed to passengers in 1959, but survived serving freight and the wagon works at Radstock until 1988. From Frome to Radstock was originally built to Brunel's broad gauge, but then at Radstock the line to Bristol was standard gauge. The broad gauge was converted in 1874 to standard gauge.

We went there on a very cold day with snow flurries falling most of the afternoon.

I am looking forward to going back when spring finally arrives to see all the trees turning green. Hopefully it will be warmer.

Garden centre visit

It has been ages since I have blogged anything.with spring coming and the weather getting warmer I hope I will be able to climb out of my winter hibernation.  

As spring is on the way I visited Castle Gardens in Sherborne with some friends and enjoyed wandering around seeing all the flowers and plants - dreaming of what I would plant if I had a big garden and plenty of time to garden all day!

 

 

 

Tea with Abi

Abi over at Creating Paper Dreams has a wonderful blog that I have been reading for a while.  She has invited her readers to write what we would talk about over a cup of tea.

How wonderful to meet and chat over a cup of tea.  Tea is my favourite drink – I hope it is a warm day when we meet as we will have to sit outside as I will have my new dog with me.  I will take you to my favourite café where we will drink tea and probably have a toasted teacake – another of my morning favourites.

I would tell you all about Tara my new greyhound. I have not been able to have a dog for a few years as I have been working full time and did not want to leave a dog alone all day.  Luckily I now work part time so I am able to have a dog now. (I hope you like dogs!)  I would tell you all about greyhounds, how I have been on a learning curve since I got her as they are so different to the German Shepherds I previously had.

Yes I would discuss the weather and how long and cold this winter has been, how I hate the dark evenings and suspect I suffer from SAD syndrome as I do tend to hibernate in the winter and find it difficult to do anything in the winter.

I would tell you that I went to summer school in Durham when I was doing an Open University music course, how I loved being in Durham and wanted to stay longer.

I would chat about all my craft projects I am doing, the fact that I start a project and then start another before finishing the first so I have lots on the go at once.  I even had to unpick a knitting project a few weeks ago because I couldn’t remember what I was knitting!  I would tell you about my scrapbooking and may even bring along my holiday journal to show you which I was so pleased with.

We would chat about photography and I would tell you how I started many years ago in the days of film and remember developing and printing with my Dad in the attic room.

As we leave I would wish you well and tell you to enjoy your university years, both my children had a wonderful time at uni even though it was hard work.  It is all worth it in the end.  

More snow

It is snowing quite heavily right now, I hope it will cover up some of the ice on the pathways as it is difficult to walk on solid ice!
